07.09.2015  09:17
On 1 September, HRH Crown Princess Mary participated in a meeting for Women Deliver and later raised a flag for UN's new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

HRH the Crown Princess Mary raised the flag in honour of the fifth global goal, which is to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. HRH the Crown Princess was invited by the Global Goals Campaign to raise the flag as the first in a series of 17 flags to symbolise the 17 Global goals.

The remaining 16 flags will be raised in a number of other places around the world to create awareness of the Global Goals towards the UN general assembly later in September. The Global Goals is a series of highly ambitious targets amongst others to end poverty, fight inequality and tackle climate change before 2030.

The hoist of the flag took place in connection with a Women Deliver inspiration meeting in which over 100 organizations and companies gathered to develop ideas up to the fourth “Women Deliver Conference”, which will take place in Copenhagen in May 2016.
HRH the Crown Princess Mary has been appointed protector the Women Deliver’s fourth Global Conference.
