Study permit


If you are planning to study in Denmark, the web site Study in Denmark is your one-stop information centre for higher education studies in Denmark. This website is a convenient and comprehensive information resource.

You must have obtained a residence permit before entering Denmark. You can submit your application in your country of origin (or in the country where you have resided permanently for the past three months).

Documents required

If you wish to apply for a residence permit as a student, you and the educational institution in Denmark must supply information for the processing of your application. The application form contains a detailed description of how you and the educational institution should complete the form and which documents you must attach.   The following is required for an application (Remember to make two copies of all documents):

  •     2 completed application forms (see tag Download form).
  •     Passport (copy cover page, first page, pages with stamps).
  •     1 passport size photo (35x45mm) to the application form. Do not glue or staple the photo to the application, just join the photo to the application form.
  •     Confirmation of acceptance from academic institution in Denmark.
  •     Evidence that you can support yourself in Denmark in the form of a bank statement in your own name with the equivalent of Danish kroner 50.000,00.

The application should normally be submitted in the closest Danish mission to your residence country.

The application must be submitted in person.

Please note that Denmark do not recognise series T of the Jordanian ordinary passport.


Processing time

All applications for long term visa will be processed and decided by the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration and will usually be processed within 60 working days.

Visa Fees

Consular fees are based on the ‘Executive Order on Payment for Services’ provided by the Danish Foreign Service. The applicable visa fee in NIS is as per the current exchange rate. The fee is subject to change without notice.

  • Student permit: 780 NIS

Note that payment is only done in cash (NIS). The above fees are non-refundable.
